School libraries are extensions of the classroom.  Rich with print and electronic resources and the technologies necessary to view, hear, and use them, the school library allows students to delve deeper into classroom subjects and topics of personal interest.  

School librarians as information specialists and program administrators select and provide access to library resources, Web tools and sites, and communication technologies that match student needs, reading levels, and curricular topics.  As teachers and instructional partners, school librarians teach students how to search, use and document resources; how to organize, present, and share information using technologies; and how to maintain personal safety on the Internet and ethically observe intellectual property rights (AASL, School Library Programs Improve Student Learning: Teachers).

Collaborative Spaces

Main Library

Several flexible seating areas are available for collaboration and instruction.  Library spaces can be divided for small groups/classes or opened up to accommodate larger groups.  Desktop computers with printing capabilities, portable white boards and drop down projector screens are available.

Studio / Makerspace

An innovative space for students and teachers to create, explore, and inquire.  Green screen and sound recording capabilities.  See Library Services for detailed information about resources available in the studio.

Collaboration Room

An additional collaborative work space for small groups.
Please talk to a member of the library staff to reserve the use of one of our collaborative spaces.

A wide variety of print and digital resources are available that meet the academic and personal interest needs of students and teachers.

​Teacher librarians offer a wide range of collaborative services to support teachers in all curricular areas.  Services include:
  • collaborative unit planning
  • mini lessons to aid research
  • resource curation
  • breakout.edu boxes
SUPPLIES & TECHNOLOGY
  • Supply Boxes are available for students to use free of charge while working on projects (boxes include markers, colored pencils, glue, tape, scissors, etc.)
  • School Store - notebooks, folders, pens, pencils, erasers, poster boards, tri-fold project boards are available for purchase.
  • Multimedia projects - 3 portable green screens, microphones, tripods, and mini green screens (for stop motion animation projects)
  • Keyboard with drum pad for music creation
  • Robotics - 1 Sphero robot, 4 ozobots
  • Paper Circuits, Squishy Circuits, and Makey Makey
  • Color Poster and Lamination Services for Teachers 
(Other lamination $1.25 per foot)

Book Club

Our student book club meets the first Friday of each month during lunch!  Bring your own lunch; dessert is provided.
